We've really come to love Americana. I had it once when I first moved to Centerville and thought it was fine. But I kept getting the sandwiches at work and then we got the pizza again, and we really enjoyed it. They are good for both lunch and supper. The place is clean, the service is fast, and the food is good. The meat lovers pizza and sub are both amazing. They do have one pretty unique item, the pretzel sticks breadsticks. As for their pizza, it compares most closely with Pizza King, and they cut their pizza the same way. Honestly, I prefer Americana to Pizza King because the pizzas are close and their subs are better, plus it's a lot closer and a little cheaper.

We were just looking for some pizza while motoring west on I-70. Service was great as was the pizza.

Holy moly. Who would expect to find such delicious eats in tiny Centerville, Indiana? And at a place like this, no less?
I cannot speak for the pizza here (although it does look pretty good), because the two times I have been here I have ordered the meatball sub. (If you're coming here do yourself a solid and order it. Trust me.) My second visit was almost two years after the first, but the meatball sub at Americana Pizza hadn't changed a bit. It's ridiculously good. The bread is fresh, crisp on the outside but soft on the inside so that it absorbs the sauce without getting the bread soggy. The cheese is stringy. The sauce is a perfect tomato sauce, on the verge of being almost sweet but not quite there. And of course, the meatball. I've never had a better meatball. Perfect texture. Just the right flavor to make this sandwich an A+ in my book!
I couldn't tell you whether this place is all about homemaking their food or how the other menu items are, but this sub is good enough alone to convince me that Americana Pizza deserves 5 stars. Clearly the locals love the place, too, since both times I've been here it's been packed to the brim with guys on their lunch hours. -

This is likely the only pizza place in the county I haven't tried. So, as I only have so much time left here, I decided to stop to try it.
This isn't as bad as I'd heard, nor is it as good. It doesn't taste like cardboard with sauce, but there is a manufactured texture to the crust. No one would mistake it for hand-tossed crust.
I asked for a 9 inch deluxe and a sweet tea. When she asked for $12.56, I was a bit shocked! That was like a trip to LaRosa's near Cincinnati--with the tip.
Now, The Americana (their deluxe/supreme) has the usual pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, but also has hamburger and black olives. That is worth a little extra, I suppose.
The taste didn't encourage me. I didn't think "I've got to return to have more soon." I thought "Well, I've been here, and now, I know." It's not as bad as Mercurio's, but it wouldn't make my top 10. The sweet tea neither seemed to be sweet, nor tea. There wasn't much flavor.
The best reason to go here is to support your neighbors and keep restaurants in Centerville. Maybe, if they get more business, they'll become better.
They were shutting down the buffet when I arrived, so I'm not exactly sure what they normally do. I assume that it has pizza and salad.
They have a small dining room that looks out onto Main Street/U.S. 40. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. -

Very good italian sub. Came with chips and a side salad as a special. Wife had a personal size pizza. She said was very good! Would highly recommend!
